The Black Cat Mug is wheel thrown using red earthenware clay and features a monoprinted image of Lily the black cat on each side of the mug. Monoprinting is a method of surface design requiring time and patience. Each mug is printed using several layers of slip, building the design from the foreground to the background. Due to the nature of this surface design method, each mug is slightly different and no two designs are exactly alike. The Black Cat mug is approximately 4 inches high and holds about 12 ounces of liquid with room for cream or anything else you care to add to your beverage. Each mug is lined with a glossy glaze. The outside image area has a clear glaze. The rest of the mug body including the handle is bare clay resulting in an interesting contrast between a matte and glossy surface.
This mug is food and dishwasher safe, although hand washing is recommended.
All pottery will be shipped within 1-3 days after you place your order. Items are carefully wrapped and double boxed to ensure safe arrival at your home. Packages will be shipped using USPS. The cost of shipping will be a flat rate of $15 per order.
If your package should arrive damaged, please take a photograph of the box before you open it. Take more photos of the damaged products to send to USPS to file your claim with them.
