The Bird Walk Mug is wheel thrown using a speckled brown stoneware clay and features a monoprinted image of a two birds taking a stroll. The monoprinted scene wraps around the body of the mug. Monoprinting is a method of surface design requiring time and patience. Each mug is printed using several layers of slip applied to newsprint, building the design from the foreground to the background. Due to the nature of this surface design method, each mug is slightly different and no two designs are exactly alike.
